PTA Supported Programs

 

The PTA supports a wide range of great programs for our students, school, and community.

In this section you will be able to find more information about/for the following (bear with us as we work tp populate this content):

 

  

After School Enrichment- Our Enrichment Coordinator organizes fun and engaging after school classes for students to choose from, ranging from Basketball to Beading

 

Artists in Residence 

 

Assemblies- We help to coordinate lots of fun and informative assemblies for our students and families.

 

Building Beautification & Landscaping- We work to keep our school ship shape and beautiful for all to enjoy. 

 

A Playground for All- We are under construction for the hillside portion of our playground complete with slides and climbing ropes. We are also creating an accessible ramp that will allow all students in our community to access the playground in a safe way.

 

Olallie Garden- The Garden Committee maintains and cares for the Olallie Learning Garden that is such a beautiful and important part of our school.

 

Communication- We strive to issue communications to families to keep everyone informed what is happening in and around the school.

 

Readerboard- We keep this updated to keep YOU updated

 

Room Parents- Volunteers from each class work together to help build community and share information and resources.

 

Website- We host and maintain this website to help communicate events and happenings, as well as offer the free school directory.

 

 

Dragon Tutor- We often coordinate to offer on-site tutoring for students that might need or want a little extra help (on pause until we can safely meet at the school again)

Field Trips- Oh to be able to gather again in person. Future trips to baseball games, plays, and museums are on the horizon and we can't wait to help coordinate them!

 

New Family Welcome Events- Meet new and returning families at these fun coordinated events!

 

 

Outreach- Our Outreach team works with our guidance counselor to ensure all families in the GLES community have access to services and PTA scholarship funds.

 

Holiday Food & Gift Drives

 

   

School Directory- We manage and maintain the school directory (Sign up here! It's free!) so that families can connect and communicate with one another.

 

Social Justice & Equity Committee- The SJE Committee supports and encourages discussions related to race, diversity, equity and inclusion to facilitate understanding and celebration of differences within the Green Lake area. Learn more

 

STEM Night- This is a night of fun and learning where students get to show off exciting things they learned during the scientific process.

 

Swim Program- Swim lessons are offered to all students during the school day (on pause with COVID and until Evans Pool reopens)

 

 

Teacher Appreciation- Throughout the year we coordinate ways to honor and celebrate our teachers with events like coffee carts and potlucks.

 

 

Reflections Returning to GLES this year, Reflections is a National PTA art competition, with 30,000+ students participating! Learn more

 

Green Lake ROCKS!- The bands are getting back together! Green Lake Rocks started as a band of parents, teachers, and staff performing all over town. More bands grew out of that, and after some time away, they are starting tp perform again!

 

Vocal Music- We support music in our schools by hosting Auna Stewart in the school to teach vocal music lessons. (These are currently on pause until COVID restrictions on singing change).

 

 

Yearbook- We coordinate the design, sales, and distribution of the school yearbook.

 

Young Authors Day- Typically a Spring event, this is a day of fun, reading, and writing for the whole school.
