VOLUNTEER
The Drama Dragon's incredible productions literally cannot happen without DOZENS of volunteers. If you have an actor in the play, we're counting on you and your family to step up and participate as much as you can. We need your support! And, if you don't have an actor in the play, volunteering is an excellent way to get involved. There are so many different ways to help out - some creative, some organizational, some managerial. We promise there's something for everyone.
Please sign up here:
- Kid volunteers: opportunities for 3rd-5th graders
- Middle School and High School volunteers: opportunities for 6th-12 graders
- Adult Volunteer Jobs (parents or background-checked school volunteers)
PROVIDE CONCESSIONS! Buy, bake, and sell!
We need delicious treats to sell before the performance and at intermission. Families will sometimes bake goodies that are in keeping with the theme of the play - but we also need packaged snacks and LOTS of drinks.
checklist for the families of cast members: your must do's
There are several things that you'll need to do in order to ensure your cast member(s) are prepared:
- Sign up to volunteer. We can't emphasize this enough so we're saying it twice. THANK YOU in advance for your help!
- Review the rehearsal and performance schedule for the week of Feb 3 and cancel/reschedule any non-critical activities. Help your cast member(s) stay healthy, hydrated, and well-rested, so they can put all their energy into the show. We don't want anyone to miss out due to illness!
- ASAP: make sure your cast member(s) have the following items no later than Sun February 2:
- A large bag with their name on it, to hold personal items and clothing during performances.
- Proper clothing to wear underneath their costumes:
- black leggings or shorts
- white tank/camisole (or plain white tee for boys)
- plain black shoes (unless otherwise provided).
If you are unable to provide these items, please tell Molly and Merissa ASAP and they will help.
- On Monday February 3: send your cast member(s) to rehearsal with their large bag and their underclothes, so they are ready to rehearse in costume all week.
- Be prepared to help with clean up on Closing Night. Many hands make light work and we ask all families to stay with us and lend a hand so we can leave the school in good condition and go home. We'll ALL be tired!
