During the second half of every school year, GLES staff and volunteers get each kindergarten through 2nd grade classroom into the pool for swim lessons. Each class goes once per week for roughly 6 weeks to spend time in the water with instructors and friends! 

To ensure our students' safety and comfort we engage volunteer instructors, lifeguards, deck helpers, and male and female locker room helpers for end-to-end support. Red Cross training is required for some of these roles and the PTA covers the expense.
